Pregnancy
Pregnancy is the period of time a woman carries an unborn child from fertilization through to birth. A normal pregnancy will last between 36 and 40 weeks and is divided into 3 equal stages called trimesters. Each trimester marks a different stage in the pregnancy and the development of the unborn child.
Labour is the final stage of pregnancy that leads to the birth of your child.
Moontides Approach to Pregnancy
Every woman’s experience of pregnancy and birth is different. It can
be a joyous time but regardless of whether or not the pregnancy was
planned, it may feel at times like you are riding an emotional
roller-coaster.
When you have a consultation with a Moontides
Naturopathic Case Manager (NCM) about your pregnancy you will be asked a
series of questions about your diet, lifestyle, general health
condition, emotional state and what medications you are taking.
Pregnancy can lead to certain health conditions that may be causing you
discomfort. Discuss your pregnancy health concerns with your NCM and
these can also be incorporated in your treatment plan.
The information you provide will all be taken into account by your NCM when preparing your treatment strategy and prescription.
On
your first visit you will receive a personal handbook that contains
information regarding your treatment strategy, diet or lifestyle advice
and general information on pregnancy.
Your NCM will ask you to
complete a diet diary which will be analysed by your NCM for any
nutritional imbalances or foods that might be aggravating your
symptoms. You will receive a copy of the analysis made.
